Clementine was drawing Bailey's body, next. His words stilled her pencil. She still wasn't sure what had happened or what she'd done, so she didn't even know what to apologize for. That was the hard part.
"I know. I did something wrong, right?" she asked, softly. She couldn't look up at him while she said it. "If you tell me what I did, I can say I'm sorry. But if you don't want to be friends anymore I'd understand."
It would make her really sad, but she didn't want to bother him. Maybe it was like her old friend's older sibling back home, where he didn't want them to be around. She just didn't know anymore.
