Clementine hadn't thought twice about trying out that weird machine. It seemed fun at the time, getting a fortune, even though she hadn't really understood the message that came out of it. Something about being stronger or something like that - she had stuffed it in her pocket and promptly forgot it was there. That night, she got in her long gown pajamas - it had a big sleeping bunny on the front of it, and was her favorite - and went to sleep.
The next morning, everything seemed wrong.
At first, she was so half-asleep she almost thought it was a dream. That lasted all of a few seconds, until she realized she was staring down at herself from where she was laying, still tangled up in sheets, and not recognizing at all what she was looking at. Her same clothes were still on, but much shorter - barely covering her much larger body. She sat up, her heart pounding, and for a moment all she could do was look.
When she realized it wasn't a dream, she practically scrambled, nearly tripping twice, all the way to Andrea's room. It was still early, so she was still asleep. Waking her up wasn't something she liked doing, but she didn't know what else to do.
"Andrea?" she called, her voice quivering with panic.

Date: 2013-02-16 09:33 pm (UTC)The woman in her room definitely wasn't Clementine. She wasn't anyone Andrea recognized.
"What are you doing in my bedroom?" she snapped, sitting up, looking behind the woman. "Did you hurt her? Where is she?"

Date: 2013-02-16 09:41 pm (UTC)"It's me, it's Clementine!" she exclaimed, and she could feel tears start to pinprick in the corner of her eyes. She just wanted her to tell her what was happening, that it'd be okay, but maybe she would kick her out because she looked different. Maybe she wouldn't believe her. The very idea was enough to make her worry even more. "I - I - I woke up and - I didn't do anything, I promise! I'm sorry!"

"Wha... how?"

Date: 2013-02-16 10:13 pm (UTC)"I don't know, I woke up and I was all big," she said, and that was really the moment the tears started to slowly streak down her cheeks. She didn't know anything, what if no one believed her? "Don't make me leave, I don't want to go."

Date: 2013-02-17 03:18 pm (UTC)She wasn't sure what she was going to do, but this was Clementine. She could tell. Her expressions, her mannerisms, the way she spoke, it was all the same. But she was an adult.

Sure, she'd had moments where she wished she was bigger and stronger, but she didn't want to be grown up yet. She didn't even know how to be grown up.

Date: 2013-02-22 02:17 pm (UTC)"There was a weird game I tried. It gave me something like the paper in a fortune cookie," she said. That was the only weird thing she saw, but now that she thought about it, the fortune was a little weird, too.

"We should talk to Fred, probably," she decided. "She knows more about magic than I ever will."

Date: 2013-02-24 09:09 pm (UTC)She'd always wanted to be bigger, but not like this. This wasn't what she wanted at all. No one would recognize her!

Date: 2013-02-25 04:31 pm (UTC)Any idea would be more than Andrea had right now. She felt completely useless, unable to think of anything that might have caused this to happen.
